Born in 1922 between Rabbit Hash and East bend Bottoms, Mrs. Clause grew up on a farm. As an adult she worked at Crosley during World War II, and operated a grocery and hardware store in Rabbit Hash. At the time of the interview, in 1981, she was a mill operator in Snow’s Tool & Dye. She gives detailed descriptions of her life in Boone County, Kentucky.
